Douglas Trade Shows was established in Hawaii in 1983. It is Hawaii’s largest and oldest trade show management company. Douglas Trade Shows also produces Hawaii’s four annual general merchandise, gift, jewelry and fashion accessories trade shows and has provided management services for association and government trade events for the arts, the environment, architecture and the disability industries.



Now in its 13th year, the Hawaii Buildings, Facilities & Property Management Expo offers convenient access to a broad variety of products, services and equipment used by owners, managers and operations personnel of Hawaii’s buildings, facilities and property management companies. Although over 30 free industry seminars are presented annually, the Expo’s primary objective is to bring industry professionals with purchasing authority or influence together with suppliers for an effective market for both on the exhibit floor. Admission is free.



Hawaii’s total population exceeds 1.4 million residents. The state capital and business, financial, urban and transport center is the City & County of Honolulu which encompasses the entire Island of Oahu with a metropolitan population of over one million. Eight million tourists come to Hawaii from around the world each year. They have access to 70,000 hotel and resort condo units and 3,000 foodservice establishments. Hawaii is also home to major military bases for the U.S. Army, Navy, Airforce and Marines. Census information from Hawaii governmental agencies including the Dept. of Business, Economic Development & Tourism, the Dept. of Land Utilization and the Property Divisions of Hawaii Counties indicates (excluding single family homes) that there are over 9,000 major residential, commercial and government buildings and facilities statewide. Hawaii’s limited land mass encourages design solutions favoring more creative, vertical and “green” construction projects. Many are now under construction or in development. A 20-mile elevated mass transit system is also being built along the Honolulu urban core.

All qualified Hawaii industry buyers receive invitations & free admission badges. Full-color ads appear in Hawaii’s trade publications. Exhibitors are given free Expo invitations as needed for their clients and prospective customers. Expo invitations are both mailed and emailed to a targeted database of over 20,000. Each individual in this database also receives The Expo Preview, by mail. This is a full-color newsletter providing a list of the exhibitors, their products, services and booth locations as well as the entire seminar schedule. Free admission badges are then sent to all registrants and include multiple contest entry coupons to win valuable prizes at the Expo.



The Neal Blaisdell Center is a right-to-work municipal facility owned and operated by the City & County of Honolulu. The exhibitors are permitted to do their own display move-in, installation and dismantling. The Neal Blaisdell Center is conveniently located between Waikiki Beach, the heart of Hawaii’s tourist industry only two miles away, and Honolulu’s modern downtown capitol district and business center which are within walking distance.



10’ deep x 10’ wide exhibit booths are $1,630. Corner booths are an additional $175. 4.712% tax is added. All booths include one skirted display table, two chairs, a wastebasket, an 8’ high drape backwall, two 3’ high drape siderails, a 7” x 44” booth ID sign, six exhibitor badges, a full Expo Buyer’s Guide program listing, a listing with the exhibitor’s link on the Expo website for a full year and the attendee postal mailing list free after the Expo.



Exhibit hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on both Wed. March 11th and Thurs. March 12th. Exhibitors may install their displays from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm on Tues. March 10th and from 7:00 am to 8:30 am on Wed. March 11th. Move-out begins at 4:15 pm on Thur. March 12th and must be completed by 9:00 pm.
